Terms of Service

Last updated October 10, 2026. Questions: support@tryscholarships.com

These terms are an agreement between you and TryScholarships. By creating an account or paying, you agree to them. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms with you.

1. Who can use TryScholarships

  • TryScholarships is for U.S. high school students and their parents or guardians.
  • Children under 13 may not create their own account. A parent or guardian may create and manage a profile for a child under 13.
  • Students aged 13โ€“17 may create an account only with permission from a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the student's use of the service.
  • Only an adult (18 or older) may make a purchase. Students under 18 must ask a parent or guardian to pay.

2. What we are โ€” and aren't

  • No guarantee of money. We help you find and organize scholarships. We do not award scholarships, and we can't promise you will win any scholarship, grant or amount. Matches and estimates are not predictions of your chances.
  • Not affiliated. TryScholarships is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the U.S. Department of Education, any state agency, college, or scholarship sponsor named on the site. Names are used only to identify their programs.
  • Always confirm on the official site. We research official sources, but sponsors change amounts, rules and deadlines without notice. The sponsor's official website is the final word. Check it before you apply, and don't rely on us alone for a deadline.
  • Not professional advice. Nothing here is financial, legal, tax or admissions advice. For decisions about loans, taxes or college choice, talk to a school counselor, a college financial aid office or a qualified professional.
  • Applying is always free. Legitimate scholarships never charge an application fee, and the FAFSA is free at studentaid.gov. You pay us only for our tools โ€” never to apply for aid.

3. Scout, the AI coach

Scout uses automated AI models, including free third-party models. AI can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Scout's answers are general information, not advice, and are not reviewed by a person before you see them. Don't share Social Security numbers, passwords or bank details with Scout. Messages you send to Scout are processed by our AI provider to generate a reply.

4. Free trial, price and payment

  • Free trial: new families get 3 days of full access free. No payment card is needed, and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends โ€” access simply pauses until someone chooses to pay.
  • Lifetime Access: a single, one-time payment of $399 (U.S. dollars). It is not a subscription and never renews.
  • Family Assistance price: $99 one time for households with income of $80,000 a year or less, after we approve proof of eligibility. By requesting it you confirm the information you give us is true. If it isn't, we may cancel access or ask you to pay the difference.
  • What "lifetime" means: access for as long as TryScholarships operates the service, for the paying adult and the student accounts linked to their family. If we ever shut the service down permanently, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and let you download your data.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Prices may change for future buyers but never for a purchase you already made. Sales tax may be added where required.

5. No refunds

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds. That's why every family gets a free 3-day trial with full access and no card required โ€” please use it to decide before you buy. This doesn't limit any rights you have under applicable law. If you were charged by mistake (for example, charged twice), email support@tryscholarships.com and we'll correct it.

6. Your account and your content

  • Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
  • You own what you upload and write. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you.
  • Be honest. Don't use TryScholarships to submit false information to scholarship sponsors, and don't upload anything that isn't yours to share.
  • Don't misuse the service: no scraping, reselling, attacking the site, or accessing other people's accounts.
  • You can download your data or delete your account at any time in Settings.

7. Limits of our responsibility

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, TryScholarships is not liable for missed deadlines, scholarships not awarded, errors in third-party information, or indirect losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use TryScholarships after that means you accept the new terms.
